APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Individuals wishing to apply to career training programs at Career College of Northern Nevada must have a personal interview and tour the campus. The college prefers that an applicant's parents, spouse, or close friend also attend the interview. This gives the entire family the opportunity to ask questions about the college and the program of study being considered. An applicant who wishes to enroll is asked to comply with these additional requirements:
Recommendation for acceptance by an Admissions Representative following your personal interview.
Provide proof of High School graduate status/GED recipient or complete a request for High School, GED or College transcripts. If you do not have your High School diploma/GED, CCNN will provide assistance in this area.
Meet with a Financial Aid Officer to make arrangements to pay for your investment in your education.
Complete an Application for Enrollment and Enrollment Agreement (to be signed by parent or guardian if the applicant is a minor).
Acceptance by a school official following the completion of the above requirements.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Once the above items have been submitted, the college will review the information and inform the applicant of its decision. If an applicant is not accepted by the college, all moneys paid will be refunded.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Career College of Northern Nevada believes in providing various scholarships to its community members. These scholarships are specifically designed to assist graduating high school seniors, who demonstrate a financial need, in their academic pursuit. It is recommended that any prospective high school student, who believes he/she has a financial need, consider applying for one of these scholarships. Information concerning these scholarships may be obtained from his/her High School Counselor or the Director of Admissions at Career College of Northern Nevada.
TRANSFER OF CREDITS
Career College of Northern Nevada will normally accept credit transfers from another accredited institution providing these courses are comparable to the ones outlined in the student’s program of study, and do not exceed 50% of the program length. The Academic Dean must approve all credit transfer requests. The Career College diploma and degree programs are designed for employment purposes, and the student should not assume that the courses in any program can be transferred to another institution for credit. Students planning to transfer credits should get assurance of course transferability in advance from the institution to which they wish to transfer.
