Individuals wishing to apply to career training programs at Career College of Northern Nevada must have a personal interview and tour the campus. The college prefers that an applicant's parents, spouse, or close friend also attend the interview. This gives the entire family the opportunity to ask questions about the college and the program of study being considered. An applicant who wishes to enroll is asked to comply with these additional requirements:
Once the above items have been submitted, the college will review the information and inform the applicant of its decision. If an applicant is not accepted by the college, all moneys paid will be refunded.
Career College of Northern Nevada believes in providing various scholarships to its community members. These scholarships are specifically designed to assist graduating high school seniors, who demonstrate a financial need, in their academic pursuit. It is recommended that any prospective high school student, who believes he/she has a financial need, consider applying for one of these scholarships. Information concerning these scholarships may be obtained from his/her High School Counselor or the Director of Admissions at Career College of Northern Nevada.
Career College of Northern Nevada will normally accept credit transfers from another accredited institution providing these courses are comparable to the ones outlined in the student's program of study, and do not exceed 50% of the program length. The Academic Dean must approve all credit transfer requests. The Career College diploma and degree programs are designed for employment purposes, and the student should not assume that the courses in any program can be transferred to another institution for credit. Students planning to transfer credits should get assurance of course transferability in advance from the institution to which they wish to transfer.
Our administrative office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday tours are arranged by appointment. Admissions Representatives and other staff members may be seen at other times by appointment. For your convenience, individual consultations are arranged by appointment. But walk-ins are very much welcome too!
CCNN recognizes that many students will need financial assistance to complete their career training, and at CCNN various Financial Aid programs are available to aid a student in paying for their college education. Career College of Northern Nevada is recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education as a proprietary institution of higher education for the purpose of student participation in federal grant and loan programs.
Our friendly and professional Financial Aid staff is available to assist you through the financial aid application process. We are committed to helping every student develop a financial aid plan that enables them to achieve their education goals.
The career training programs at CCNN were designed with the prospective employer in mind, and our campus is a great educational facility in Northern Nevada.
Each area of study has a local advisory committee comprised of employers from area businesses. These advisory committees help us offer up-to-date career training programs that satisfy the needs of local employers and find our graduates their ideal jobs.
CCNN offers many programs which include Microsoft Office training. Graduates of these programs are prepared to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification examinations right here on campus since we are an approved testing facility (see more about MOS Certification here). We also offer short diploma a program in Medical Assisting.
Associate of Occupational Studies Degree Programs are offered in: Medical Assistant and Electronic Engineering and Computer Technology.
