The Growing Industry of Welding Fabrication

At Career College of Northern Nevada, our goal is to offer career-ready training. That’s why we partner with local employers to build our curriculum, as well as track employment trends to make sure the courses we’re offering are based on in-demand jobs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of welders, cutters, solderers and brazers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations**. Despite slower-than-average employment growth, skilled welders with up-to-date training should have good job opportunities. The basic skills of welding are similar across industries, so welders can easily shift from one industry to another. The nation’s aging infrastructure will require the expertise of welders to help rebuild bridges, highways, and buildings.
